A study in contrasts

Michelangelo Pistoletto, the Arte Povera pioneer who made his name creating art from cheap materials, is bringing textile factory waste and newspaper clippings to the opulent Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire (until 31 December). The Italian artist has suspended Third Paradise (2003-16), a sculpture made of rags, in Blenheim’s Great Hall. Pistoletto is the third contemporary artist to have a solo show at the palace, after Ai Weiwei in 2014 and Lawrence Weiner in 2015.
