The Galleries
Kamel Mennour Gallery is due to open a new space on Avenue Matignon, Paris, in early 2016. The branch will be Mennour’s third gallery in the French capital.
The London-based dealer John Martin has teamed up with South Africa’s Everard Read gallery to launch Circa London in Martin’s Chelsea space. The new gallery will open fully in March after renovations are complete, but the front of the building opened in November, inaugurated by a rotating display of contemporary works of art from South Africa and Europe.
Bruno Bischofberger’s former gallery in St Moritz, Switzerland, has been taken over and renovated by Vito Schnabel. The gallery is due to open on 28 December, with new works from the Swiss artist Urs Fischer and an offsite installation by Sterling Ruby.
Paul Kasmin Gallery has launched a new division, PK Editions, which will create limited-edition prints by post-war US and European artists and contemporary living artists.
The private dealer Blair Voltz Clarke, who runs Voltz Clarke, has opened an Upper East Side gallery. She will be joined by her husband Alistair Clarke in December, when he steps down as the worldwide head of English and European furniture at Sotheby’s.

Doug Woodham, formerly the president of Christie’s Americas, has been appointed president and partner at collections management and art storage specialist UOVO.
Sotheby’s has appointed Mori Seguchi as president and managing director of Sotheby’s Japan.

Schiff Fine Art has opened an advisory office in Los Angeles. Maya McLaughlin, formerly a specialist in contemporary art at Phillips, will run the new West Coast enterprise.
Spain’s Arco art fair, which marks its 35th anniversary in Madrid in 2016, is launching ArcoLisbon, a sister edition in Portugal. The event is due to take place from 25 to 29 May 2016.
A new fair, International Art Fair Warsaw, is planned for 7 to 10 April 2016. The fair will be held in the capital’s national stadium and will present visual arts, fashion and design.
Artist Moves
The battle over the representation of artists’ estates continues to play out, with Sprüth Magers joining Marianne Boesky and Dominique Lévy in the worldwide representation of Frank Stella. The gallery will be responsible for Germany and Los Angeles.
Controversial Pop artist Larry Rivers’s estate is now represented by 101/Exhibit. Meanwhile, Offer Waterman has announced that it will now exclusively represent the estate of William Turnbull in the UK.
It has been a busy end to the year for Marianne Boesky Gallery, first announcing its representation of Berlin-based artist Björn Braun and, a week later, adding Thornton Dial to its growing roster.
Adel Abdessemed, who left David Zwirner earlier this year, is now represented by Venus Over Manhattan. His work is on show at the gallery’s Los Angeles branch until 20 December.
Double celebrations are in order for i8 gallery, which celebrated its 20th birthday last month and announced its representation of Arna Óttarsdóttir.
