The Indianapolis Museum of Art has received a $60,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to mount CSI: Conservation Science Indianapolis—a series of three exhibitions on how conservation science is furthering our understanding of art. Provenance and authenticity issues will be explored, as well as techniques such as infrared imaging and colour analysis. The first exhibition, Paintings in the Round, will explain the benefits of examining both the front and back of a painting, and is due to open in October.
