The Francis Bacon debate due to be held at the Courtauld Institute in London on 25 January was cancelled over legal concerns. The seminar concerned 600 drawings attributed to Bacon that had been acquired by Cristiano Lovatelli Ravarino, who says he was the artist’s lover. A Courtauld statement says: “While there is the possibility of legal action being taken, it has been decided that this particular case study is not appropriate for a Courtauld Research Forum event.”
