Top London dealers Simon Dickinson and Daniella Luxembourg have ended their legal battle over a Leonardo drawing.
In February, we revealed that Simon C. Dickinson gallery was planning to sue Luxembourg Art Ltd over its intermediary role in the sale of the Madonna and Child with St Anne and a Lamb.
The proposed $7m sale to an American buyer never proceeded, since there were questions regarding the attribution, and the drawing was returned to Dickinson. The gallery’s loss could have amounted to over £1.5m (The Art Newspaper, February).
In a joint statement in July, the two dealers said: “Simon C. Dickinson and Luxembourg Art Ltd are pleased to announce that they have amicably settled their recent differences on confidential terms and look forward to working together in the future.”
The drawing, which belongs to Dickinson, is being researched before it is offered for sale again.
