The Saratov Art Museum in southern Russia has announced that traces of the signature of Kazimir Malevich have been discovered on a 1913 painting “Life in a Grand Hotel”. The discovery, made using new digital technology, appears to resolve the decade-long debate over the work’s authenticity. In the 1990s, following the work’s first public exhibition in the US, some scholars said it was by Russian artist Ivan Kliun.
