Marion True hearing postponed to March

An Italian judge last month postponed a preliminary hearing being held to determine whether to proceed with legal action against Marion True, curator of antiquities at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Ms True is being investigated in connection with a seven-year Italian enquiry into the smuggling of illicitly excavated artefacts out of Italy. Also under investigation are two dealers, Robert Hecht, an American living in Paris, and Giacomo Medici, an Italian. Speaking to The Art Newspaper a member of Italy’s Public Prosecution Service said that the hearing had been postponed on a technicality: one of the documents being used as evidence had not been translated.
