Correction: Barry Joule Bacon drawings under consideration for Irish Museum of Art

The drawings will be displayed as “attributed to F. Bacon”

The subtitle of the article on the Francis Bacon drawings exhibition at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (The Art Newspaper, No.97, November 1999, pp.1 and 4) has been taken to imply that the Francis Bacon Estate had rejected the drawings held by Barry Joule as being by Francis Bacon. We would like to point out that the Francis Bacon Estate has agreed that the Joule archive drawings may be displayed in the exhibition in Dublin as “attributed to F. Bacon” and is still considering these drawings. We apologise for any difficulties the inference caused Mr Joule.
