The Art Newspaper is pleased to announce that it is expanding its global network. With online and print publications in the UK, the US, Russia, China, France and Italy, among others, The Art Newspaper Greece launches today as a licensed member of the growing group.
The Art Newspaper Greece is a bimonthly print publication as well as a daily-updated website publishing investigative journalism, insightful comment and critical analysis. With a focus on visual arts, the art market, archaeology and architecture, The Art Newspaper Greece reports on new trends and key developments in art and culture both in Greece and internationally, and interviews its main players. The newspaper also hosts the podcast Art Matters, a series of talk shows on a number of key cultural issues.
"We are excited to join The Art Newspaper, the most reputable and dynamic global publishing network as an equal member," says Olinka Miliaressi-Varvitsioti, the director of The Art Newspaper Greece. "It comes at a time of growing interest and increasing visibility in the Greek art scene with a dynamic community of artists, artist-run spaces, new museums and leading collectors. As a member of the international network, our goal is to promote Greek art and culture with insight, objectivity and integrity."
Alison Cole, the editor-in-chief of The Art Newspaper adds: “The Art Newspaper Greece will bring expert independent reporting and in-depth analysis of museums, heritage, archaeology and the art market to a Greek readership and beyond, as well as greatly enriching our network’s wider reporting in Greece and its significance.”
The first issue of The Art Newspaper Greece, available from today, focuses on the creative energy of Athens, with an exclusive interview with the new director of the National Archaeological Museum, Anna Karapanagiotou, as well as interviews with Androniki Grypari, the head of the Yannis Tsarouchis Foundation and Elina Kountouri, the director of NEON Foundation.
