Meet the panellists:

Clare McAndrew, Art Economics

Clare McAndrew is a cultural economist, investment analyst and author. In 2005 she founded Arts Economics, an economic research firm focused exclusively on the fine and decorative art market. McAndrew set up Arts Economics to focus her efforts on art market research and analysis, and works with a network of private consultants and academic scholars in providing research and consulting services to the global art trade and financial sector. She has published widely on the economics of the art market, including her book entitled Fine Art and High Finance, published by Bloomberg Press. She has published an annual macro-economic report on the global art market for the last ten years, and her global research is currently commissioned by Art Basel and UBS. She has also published papers in academic journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Applied Econometrics and others.

Georgina Adam, Financial Times and The Art Newspaper

Georgina Adam has spent more than 30 years writing about the art market and the arts in general. She was editor of the art market section of The Art Newspaper from 2000 to 2008, where she is now editor at large. She is a contributor to the Financial Times' Life and Arts section. Adam has written two books: Big Bucks: The Explosion of the Art Market in the 21st Century (Lund Humphries, 2014) and Dark Side of the Boom: the excesses of the art market in the 21st century (Lund Humphries, 2018). She is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), The International Art Market Studies Association (TIAMSA) and chair of the membership committee of Cromwell Place.
