In the age of coronavirus, Elizabeth Hurley is lighting up social media with this pic of her sporting a “Picasso” facemask. The star of Gossip Girl and the 2002 film Dawg posted on Instagram that she is “thrilled to wear my Picasso mask to support Smile for our NHS @nhs_smiles These glorious masks, designed by the artist @ronaradstudio will bring a smile to faces across the nation, protect others from Covid and raise money for the #NHS.” The masks were indeed produced by Israel-born designer Ron Arad who has also created facemask designs depicting the smiles of famous figures such as William Shakespeare and Florence Nightingale. “Other facemasks unveiled in this first batch include impressions of paintings by Picasso, Matisse and Dalí,” says the website for Smile for our NHS, which is backed by the philanthropic Ostro Fayre Share foundation. And the arty masks could soon be made at home. “Discussions are underway to make the masks available to members of the public, both in form of ready-made masks and by making the designs available for home-made assembly,” the organisers say.
