Everyone ‘s favourite fictional pastor, Dawn French in the BBC Comedy The Vicar of Dibley, has turned her hand to jewellery design, creating an 18ct gold diamond cross pendant available in an online auction organised by Birmingham-based Fellows Auctioneers. The piece, which has an estimate of £500-£700, incorporates a Heera cut diamond and was made for a charity fundraiser called the Dazzler Campaign which was organised by the National Osteoporosis Society. Nicola Whittaker, business development manager at Fellows Auctioneers, who consigned the pendant, said: “It’s fascinating consigning pieces to our auctions that were designed by celebrities as it adds something extra to the story behind them.” The current bid for the glitzy pendant stands at £480; bids are taken until 16 April (it might make in ideal Easter present after all). The Vicar of Dibley, set in Oxfordshire, is considered a comedy classic—it’s worth digging out during lockdown the episode when reverend Geraldine Granger playfully jumps into a puddle which comes up to her neck.
