Ever wondered what it would be like to step into a life-sized doll's house? Find out courtesy of Felix Burrichter, the founder-editor of the architecture and design magazine Pin-Up, who is organising a group show at Friedman Benda Gallery in New York next month (10 January-16 February). With help from the design firm Charlap Hyman & Herrero, he is creating an immersive “Freudian trip” environment for the show, which features new commissions and pairs works by pioneers of 1970s and 1980s design, such as Wendell Castle and Gaetano Pesce, with younger artists and designers including Camille Henrot and Katie Stout. “We used the idea of the dollhouse as something relatable and accessible, and because it often represents the abstract essence of a ‘perfect home’,” Burrichter says.
