Two cultural behemoths are coming together this month, as the Los Angeles Philharmonic stages a special Fluxus show. The orchestra, which is celebrating its centennial in the 2018-19 season, is due to stage work by the experimental 1960s-70s art group at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on 17 November. “We want our work in this season to be a celebration of the inspiring creative community of this city,” says the LA Phil’s chief operating officer, Chad Smith. The event, billed as Fluxus: Fluxconcert and conducted by Christopher Rountree, will feature pieces by artists including Rountree, Yoko Ono and Fluxus member Alison Knowles.
