The Sixties have never been so Swinging.... after a public call-out for lost designs by Mary Quant on 7 June, curators at London's Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) planning a major exhibition dedicated to the trailblazing fashion designer were delighted to receive 700 responses. At a press briefing outlining the museum's 2019 exhibition schedule, V&A director Tristram Hunt pointed out that 35 objects from 30 individuals will subsequently go on show in the Mary Quant exhibition (6 April 2019-16 February 2020). In another Quant coup, the V&A made 18 acquisitions for the collection from the call-out haul. The exhibition—the first retrospective on the famed design Dame in almost 50 years—will focus on the years between 1955 and 1975.
