My favourite place to switch off in New York is… Central Park. As amazing and stimulating as this city is, the one thing that is hard to come by is nature, and the park is a true oasis.
The art world in New York is different because… everything is here—galleries, museums, shows, you name it. If you take a day and just devote it to seeing art, you can see so much without trying hard. And all of the greats like Warhol, Pollock, Rothko, Judd, De Kooning—you can still see so many traces of their impact here.
The best place for an after-party in New York is… The best ones happen spontaneously, and in New York those can happen literally everywhere.
Living here makes me feel… alive and grateful for all the opportunities this city has given me My top tip for surviving Armory Week is….
My top tip for surviving Armory Week is… get to openings early and don’t try to see everything, but also leave some days unplanned.
Art fairs are important because… they bring art to more people, make it more accessible.
The last exhibition I saw was… Mark Bradford, Louise Bourgeois and Geta Bratescu at Hauser & Wirth in Los Angeles.
The last film I watched was… Tampopo—a Japanese “ramen western”. For me, as a chef, it was incredible because it showed that in the end food is all about the finished product.

My favourite place to switch off in New York… We are out so often, so I would have to say my own home with my husband and the pup enjoying the environment after we rehang every year.
The art world in New York is different because… Different from? The art world is global. New York is a destination because of the amazing cultural opportunities it supports across the board: galleries, museums, music, theatre, opera, ballet, food and shopping.
The best place for an after party… I love the room at the top of the New Museum that is available for rent. It has great views, loads of glass windows and a wraparound terrace.
Living here makes me feel… incredibly fortunate.
My top tip for surviving Armory week… I wear different shoes every day and every evening. Happy feet.
Art fairs are important because… they give you the opportunity to meet galleries and other collectors from other places around the world.
The last exhibition I saw was… Pedro Reyes at Labor in Mexico City, he created these amazing sculptures that were also instruments. Musicians performed twice a day. It was magic.
The last film I watched… was on an airplane returning from Mexico City. I can't remember what it was!

My favourite place to switch off in New York is… the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I love wandering through the rooms without any specific agenda. Every time I go there I see something new.
The art world in New York is different because… there's so much of it that you can feel like everything is happening right here. However, that's not at all the case and it's really important to see what's happening around the country and the world.
The best place for an after-party in NY is… For me, it's usually asleep in bed.
Living here makes me feel… at home.
My top tip for surviving Armory Week is… don't feel like you need to see everything. If you make two or three discoveries, the week was worth it.
Art fairs are important because… They're an opportunity to see work from galleries from other countries that one might not have a chance to visit otherwise. And it's always nice to see so manytfriends in one place!
The last exhibition I saw was… Huguette Caland at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Art on Howard Street.
The last film I watched was… Call Me by Your Name, a stunning, heart-wrenching, gorgeous film.
