PR campaign helps us find our inner Picasso (played by Antonio Banderas)

This press kit for the second season of National Geographic’s Genius series caught our eye—principally because the publicity pic shows the Spanish actor Antonio Banderas clearly relishing his role as the world’s most famous painter in the life story, entitled Genius Picasso. Banderas, the voice of Puss in Boots in the Shrek films, said last year that he has “so much respect for this man who also comes from my birthplace, Malaga”. The PR materials include a paint brush, “the first part of the ‘progressive press kit’ which will include everything you need to find your own inner Picasso” (apparently). The series director, Ron Howard, said in a statement that Banderas “was the natural choice. He, like Picasso, has a no-holds barred approach to life that will add to the genuineness that we’re looking for.” The biopic saga premieres in April.
