The Wolfsonian-FIU’s exhibition of posters by the 20th-century Austrian designer Julius Klinger (until 29 April 2018) is due to travel to New York and Germany. Details are still being finalised, but a spokeswoman for the Miami museum confirms that it is in talks with New York’s new Poster House museum, which is due to open in Chelsea in 2019, and the Museum Folkwang in Essen. The exhibition will be shown in Essen in 2020 after the presentation in New York. Working in Vienna and Berlin, Klinger (1876-1942) was one of the most sought-after European poster designers of his time before the Nazis came to power in Austria in 1938 and his work dried up. He died in a Russian concentration camp in 1942.
