The Rubell Family Collection/Contemporary Arts Foundation will launch its new space in the northern Allapattah district of Miami in December 2019, a year later than originally planned. The privately run family foundation, which presents thematic shows from its 7,500-strong collection, is due to leave its current location in Wynwood after 24 years and move to the new 100,000 sq. ft museum designed by Selldorf Architects. The Rubells will sell their current 45,000 sq. ft building, a former Drug Enforcement Agency warehouse for confiscated goods, to relocate to the emerging neighbourhood, where they have bought buildings and land worth more than $12m, according to property records.
