The foundation honouring the legacy of the late UK fashion designer, Alexander McQueen, is launching a dedicated Art Week next month (17-25 October). Sarabande: the Lee Alexander McQueen Foundation is named after McQueen’s 2007 spring/summer collection (unbeknownst to many, the foundation provides scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students). An appearance by that titan of British art, Maggi Hambling, is a highlight of Sarabande’s Art Week. On 25 October, Hambling will discuss her latest body of work, titled Edge, with the critic James Cahill. Other highlights of the week-long art smorgasbord include a Frieze round-up with Kate Bryan, head of collections at Soho House Group.
