David Sock-Knee, Vincent Van Toe and Andy Sock-Hole

Currently taking up residence in London’s Royal Academy of Arts are the 82 faces of David Hockney’s famous friends and acquaintances for his exhibition David Hockney RA: 82 Portraits and One Still Life (until 2 October). And if famous faces are your thing, it’s now possible to take Hockney home with you—or at least in his personified sock form. David Sock-Knee is the latest in a line of novelty socks featuring artists (following in the footsteps of Feetasso, Vincent Van Toe and Andy Sock-Hole), with Feet Mondrian to follow this month. According to the website for Chatty Feet, the company behind the jaunty footwear, “they are just the thing to wear to that exhibition opening event” (they also suggest that you “snap a ‘sockie’ photo when you visit famous galleries”). According to their Instagram account, Sock-Knee was recently spotted putting his feet up at the Tate Modern’s new Switch House.
