UK artists limber up for Rio Olympics

UK artists are getting ready for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next month with a set of exclusive prints made to mark the sporting jamboree. The limited edition works, produced by the London-based Counter Editions company, are by eight artists including Tracey Emin, David Shrigley, Howard Hodgkin and Eddie Peake. The “spirit of Team GB” was the inspiration for the prints which will be available from 2 August. Emin’s work is touchingly entitled True Love Always Wins, while Shrigley’s jaunty pic proclaims that Life is Fantastic; Peake, who is known for his racy performance art, has called his eye-popping screenprint Sweat (the text "jolting body w. sweaty skin, a sheen of sweat, iridescent in twilight," is emblazoned across the rather vivid work).
