The Scandinavian duo Elmgreen & Dragset’s vast, aquamarine sculpture Van Gogh’s Ear, which is drawing huge crowds at the Rockefeller Center (until 3 June), will go on permanent display in Wuhan, central China, after its stint in New York. The kidney-shaped, empty “swimming pool” will travel to the new K11 Art Foundation site in late 2017. “This will be one of our biggest public art pieces,” says a spokesman for the foundation, which funded the production of the work.
