When the Beckhams met the Wirths

Manuela Wirth, the Swiss wife of the art dealer Iwan Wirth, keeps a low profile even though she is co-president of Hauser & Wirth—but a recent interview with Manuela in the UK magazine Gentlewoman (by The Art Newspaper's editor-at-large Cristina Ruiz) revealed some fascinating facts. 1. The artist Martin Creed is designing the interiors of Iwan and Manuela’s north London home. 2. The couple sold their Holland Park home to David and Victoria Beckham for more than £30m. 3. They are opening a 45-bedroom hotel in Scotland because they have a house there (next to the Queen’s) and there wasn’t anywhere decent nearby to put up their guests. 4. They asked the fashion designer Paul Smith to design a Hauser & Wirth family tartan. 5. They have a cat called Yoko (named after Yoko Ono).
