The blockbusting retrospective of David Bowie’s career opened at the Groninger Museum in The Netherlands last month (David Bowie Is, until 13 March). It is a timely monument to the man who straddled music, fashion and art for more than 40 years. The museum is usually closed on Mondays but opened its doors today (11 January) so that fans can pay homage to the late Thin White Duke. Visitors to the show can pay their respects by signing a condolences book in the lobby of the museum. On the museum website, Groninger officials say: “David Bowie has died. We can’t believe it. Over the two years of working on the [V&A] exhibition David Bowie Is, we’ve come to feel as if he were a personal friend.”
