Maillol Museum goes back to basics

The Maillol Museum in Paris, which has been closed since February, is due to reopen in September 2016. The museum has hired Culturespaces, a company that manages 13 other historical sites and museums in France, to operate its programme of two annual exhibitions of Modern and contemporary art. The museum, which has organised shows on Italian ancient art and Old Masters in recent years, billed the relaunch as a return to the vision of its founder Dina Vierny. An art dealer and former model for the artist Aristide Maillol, Vierny established the institution with her collection of the artist’s work in 1995.
