Artists donate postcards to fight Hepatitis C

For a mere £50, collectors could snap up an original work by Gilbert and George, David Shrigley or Polly Morgan, while at the same time helping to eradicate hepatitis C within 15 years. They are among 150 artists who have donated postcard-sized works to the Hepatitis C Trust, which is currently auctioning the paintings online at The Auction Room, in a sale dubbed Art on a Postcard. Works by famous artists are entered anonymously alongside those by the not-so-famous, although some well-known styles are discernible. Collectors with a keen eye might even spot a star of the future. Bidding starts at £50 and the auction closes on 12 November. Those who prefer to view potential purchases in the flesh can see the postcards at Soho Revue in Greek Street, London (9-12 November).
