The kids are all right at the Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is getting down with the kids in a big way, having launched a special online platform called #MetKids. “Developed for seven- to 12-year-olds, #MetKids launches with 40 videos and more than 125 featured objects, fun facts and project ideas drawn from across the Met’s collection and accompanied by kid-friendly prompts,” a statement says. It’s worth clicking on the portal just to see the museum’s director, Thomas Campbell, being interviewed by a throng of curious children. “Do you ever get lost in the museum?” asks one inquisitive girl. “Well, funnily enough, coming over here I got lost. There’s a whole bunch of passageways and corridors. I took the wrong turning,” a rather bemused Campbell replies. The same girl gives her thoughts on the esteemed director at the end of the film. “He’s actually quite nice and funny,” she declares.
