Fans of the swashbuckling, shaven-headed former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis—and there are many—need not worry: he is still expected to speak at the sixth Moscow Biennale (22 September-1 October) next month. We wondered if Yanis might take a well-earned break after playing a pivotal role in Greece’s bailout referendum in July (he campaigned for a “no” vote, then resigned), but “he is booked on 1 October”, confirms Defne Ayas, the biennial’s co-curator. Varoufakis is among the speakers who have been invited to the historic VDNKh, a vast Soviet-era exhibition space north of the capital, “to find answers to questions such as: what are the fundamentals of a better life?”
