Playing the Trump card

After Donald Trump’s derogatory comments about illegal immigrants thrust him into the spotlight this summer, the Republican US presidential candidate might benefit from visiting Coyote Ugly, an exhibition and performance series by the Corsica-born artist Agathe Snow at Albertz Benda in New York (10 September-26 September; performances every Wednesday and Saturday). Snow was once one of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the US, and plans to evoke her disorienting experience by transforming the project space into a labyrinth littered with personal effects, including baby bottles and shoes. Snow will invite immigrants to share their stories at the centre of the maze. She says: “I will be creating space to… get a better sense of the issue… and invite all who might, like me, want to get closer, get personal, and see where it leads.”
