This year’s edition of St. Moritz Art Masters (21-30 August) is all about Italian art, from Futurism to the country’s avant-garde and Spatialist artists, which are ever popular with the many wealthy collectors who spend time in the engadine valley and St. Moritz in particular. Highlights of this season’s programme include an exhibition of works by Lucio Fontana and Piero Manzoni in St. Moritz’s protestant church; a retrospective of the little-known Arte Povera artist Aldo Mondino, at Robilant and Voena gallery; a group show of works by Ettore Sottsass, Bruno Munari and Giacomo Balla, among others, at Gian Enzo Sperone’s gallery in Sent; and an exhibition in St Moritz’s Kempinsky hotel that pairs the famous fashion photographer Giovanni Gastel with Mimmo Rotella. The event’s main sponsors are Cartier, Montblanc and Perrier-Jouët.
