Lapada, the UK-based Association of Art and Antiques Dealers, is revamping its website to sell works from its 550 members online. Due to launch this autumn, the site will also provide editorial content, says Rebecca Davies, its chief executive. While Lapada’s members range from antiques to contemporary dealers, Davies says there is more “nervousness” associated with buying older pieces online and reiterates Lapada’s “stringent” vetting requirements.
