David Goodman, the former president of productions and live entertainment at Madison Square Garden, has joined Sotheby’s New York as the executive vice president of digital development and marketing. Sotheby’s chief executive, Tad Smith, joined from the same firm in March.

Maureen Milliard, the former head of Sotheby’s bid department in New York, is now the first US representative for the Switzerland-based auction house Koller. And Sotheby’s former head of 19th-century European paintings, Adrian Biddell, has joined Waterhouse and Dodd as director of its London gallery and of its art advisory branch Fine Art Brokers.
Shuffle at Christie’s
Brook Hazelton, who co-founded the New York-based investment firm St. James Partners, is now president of client management at Christie’s Americas. Meanwhile, Christie’s former global head of its First Open auction series, Ed Tang, is now a director at the New York advisory firm Art Agency, Partners.
Offer Waterman heads to Mayfair
The London dealer Offer Waterman is moving his gallery in Chelsea into the former headquarters of the Arts & Crafts business, Morris & Co, in Mayfair. His inaugural exhibition, David Hockney: Early Drawings, is a collaboration with the Manhattan dealer Paul Kasmin.
Andrew Edlin’s bound for the Bowery
The building that houses Andrew Edlin Gallery in Chelsea, New York, is scheduled for demolition. After 13 years there, Edlin is moving his gallery and his other business, Wide Open Arts (which manages the Outsider Art Fair), to the Bowery on the Lower East Side. His first exhibition is planned for 1 October.
Connersmith Gallery moves to historic arts district in DC
The Connersmith Gallery in Washington, DC, is due to relocate next year to a three-storey building in the historic Shaw district, also known as the arts district.
Maccarone gets Los Angeles space
After 15 years in business in New York, Michele Maccarone is opening a Los Angeles exhibition space in a 50,000 sq. ft former factory building on South Mission Street, by the Los Angeles River. An inaugural exhibition by the New York-based artist Alex Hubbard opens on 19 September.
Continua has eyes on Cuba
The 25-year-old Italian gallery Continua has opened an exhibition space in Havana, Cuba, just in time for the 2015 Havana Biennial (22 May–22 June). Galleria Continua has three other spaces in San Gimignano, Italy, Beijing and Les Moulins in France.
Bringing Honolulu to Zurich
Larkin Erdmann, the former director of the Massimo De Carlo gallery in London, and Jonathan Ellis King, the founder of the Ellis King gallery in Dublin, have opened Honolulu gallery in Zurich. The first show, Zig Zag, on view until 28 July, includes work by Julije Knifer, Grear Patterson and Mia Marfurt.
