The style journalist Jeremy Langmead has left Christie’s after just over a year in the post of Chief content officer. Writing in this month’s Esquire, Langmead says that “by the time you read this, I will have finished my year-long sojourn in the art world and returned once more to the cashmere-lined comfort of the fashion one.” The former editor of Esquire and Wallpaper* tweeted in April that he is returning to the online fashion retailer Mr Porter as brand and content director. And will he miss the august auction house which took him on in a bid to boost its digital platform (his team launched a new daily online content hub and interiors e-zine, among other things)? “I can wear the pea-green Common Projects sneakers I mentioned last month without getting quizzical looks on the Christie’s staircase,” he explains in his erudite and entertaining style column, adding: "The only Bacon I could afford at Christie's was from Ocado."
