Still with the Whitney, we’re heartened to see that the museum is due to stage an exhibition dedicated to the Cuban artist Carmen Herrera—whose 100th birthday fell on 31 May—in autumn 2016. The 50-piece show will include work spanning more than four decades, beginning with early abstractions made in Paris after the Second World War. Herrera is delighted, telling the New York Times: “There’s a saying that you wait for the bus and it will come. I waited almost 100 years!”
