How to buy art for €8 at the Venice Biennale

The Venice Biennale is not (officially) a selling show, but the German artist Olaf Nicolai is putting some of his work on the market. Nicolai has invited a group of boomerang makers from Berlin to produce the Australian flying machines on the roof of the German pavilion throughout the biennial. The only visible sign of the three crafters is when they edge to the side of the pavilion to test the bendy toys. The boomerangs are numbered and signed by the artist, and those that fail to return to their creators can be picked up off the ground. Others will be sold in tourist shops in Venice for €8—though the artist will not disclose which stores.
