Fleur Pellerin, France’s culture minister, accompanied by Jean-Luc Martinez, the president of the Louvre, and Françoise Gaultier, the Paris museum’s head of Greek, Etruscan and Roman antiquities, visited the Bardo Museum in Tunis on 18 April, exactly one month after fatal shootings by Islamists. Pellerin reconfirmed France’s commitment to cultural co-operation with Tunisia, and between the Louvre and the Bardo in particular. A group of experts from the Louvre narrowly escaped the attack.
