Following mixed reviews of the V&A’s All of This Belongs to You exhibition—consisting of a series of artistic interventions in the museum’s building and collection—it appears that a pair of mating mallards are keen to get in on the act. Taking up residency in the museum’s Italianate courtyard, the ducks have installed a nest and produced 9 eggs. On advice from the RSPB, the museum has erected barriers to protect the nest and will encourage visitors not to interfere with the breeding pair, as ducks and their eggs receive legal protection in the UK. It is unclear whether the mallards were attracted by the courtyard’s shallow reflecting pool, designed by Kim Wilkie, or by the duck feather dress in the current Alexander McQueen exhibition.
