Politicians love social media, and often turn to Twitter and Facebook to reach out to voters. But the artist Annemarie Wright has turned the tables, finding out what web users think of UK politicians weeks before Brits vote for a new government. Wright canvassed views on Twitter by setting up an account for five politicians—including David Cameron (Conservative), Ed Miliband (Labour), Nigel Farage (Ukip) and Natalie Bennett (Green Party)—under the acronym WDYTO (What Do You Think Of). After tracking hashtags posted from November last year to February, Wright amalgamated the comments in to drawings of the party leaders. So were plenty of insults flung at Cameron & co? “[The opinions] range from vaguely complimentary to absolute condemnation,” she says. The portraits are due to go on show at Woolff Gallery in London a week before the General Election on 7 May (30 April-15 May).
