Stanford University’s School of Medicine plans to include the study of works by Andy Warhol and Eadweard Muybridge in its curriculum to help doctors improve their powers of observation. The decision to include Warhol comes amid news that Stanford’s Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts will be the biggest recipient of the Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts’ recent wave of institutional donations. It will get 8,000 works by the artist, including a number of his “unstitched-stitched” photographs.
