Jean-Jacques Aillagon, a former French culture minister, has resigned as the president of Les Arts Décoratifs, the governing body of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris; he was only appointed to the post in February. Aillagon said in a statement: “I have observed, with immense regret, that the constraints on my private life have forced me to give up the exciting position.” He remains a trustee of the organisation. His replacement is Bruno Roger, the treasurer of the organisation since 1999 and a member of the acquisitions committee at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris.
