Dallas collectors open arts space

Two sets of Texan collectors—Cindy and Howard Rachofsky and Amy and Vernon Faulconer—have teamed up to create the Warehouse, an 18,000 sq. ft arts space in Dallas, to show works from their collections, as well as pieces from other private collections and museum loans. The first exhibition, “Parallel Views: Italian and Japanese Art from the 1950s, 60s and 70s”, has been organised by the art adviser Allan Schwartzman, who is the director of the Rachofsky collection. A number of the Japanese works were acquired jointly with the Dallas Museum of Art, to which the Rachofsky collection will ultimately be donated. Several of the works on display are jointly owned by the Rachofskys and the Faulconers; others are owned jointly by the Rachofskys and Deedie and Rusty Rose, whose collection will also be donated to the Dallas museum. The exhibition can be viewed by appointment until January 2014.
