Michael Govan (below), the director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (Lacma), is organising an exhibition in Venice that will draw on works in the Pinault Collection. “It will be a complete rehang of the collection,” a spokeswoman says. Govan is working with the collection’s curator, Caroline Bourgeois, on the show, which will coincide with the Venice Biennale. The theme has yet to be determined, although it is believed that works from the 1960s and 1970s will feature strongly in the exhibition at the Punta della Dogana (30 May-31 December), one of two contemporary art spaces in Venice owned by François Pinault. In 2011, the French billionaire gave a master disc of Bruce Nauman’s video installation For Beginners, 2010, to Lacma.
