The Art Newspaper can reveal that Jeff Koons is to hold a show with David Zwirner (K18) next May for the first time, according to the gallery, which did not give more details of the relationship. The much-admired artist usually shows with Gagosian Gallery (K12). At Art Basel Miami Beach, Gagosian is showing four of Koons’s works—the painting Primal Swish, 2012, and three sculptures from the 1980s: Pail, 1986, New Shelton…, 1987, and Buster Keaton, 1988. The last two were sold yesterday, according to the gallery.

A major retrospective of Koons’s work is due to be the Whitney Museum of American Art’s final exhibition in the Breuer Building before it is taken over by New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2015; the Whitney is moving to a Renzo Piano-designed building in downtown Manhattan. The exhibition will span 35 years of Koons’s career, from 1979 to 2014. Gagosian did not return requests for comment on whether Koons has left the gallery or not.
