In a nod to the US election, the line-up of restored films at the Tenth International Festival of Film Preservation at the Museum of Modern Art in New York has a presidential theme. “It’s a granular look at different types of presidential films of the past century,” says Joshua Siegel, the festival’s co-founder, who has co-organised the event with the film critic J (James) Hoberman. The 75 films include Super 8 films (above) shot by former president Richard Nixon’s aides Dwight Chapin, John Ehrlichman and H.R. Haldeman. The festival runs until 11 November.
