Artangel is to donate nine video works, valued at more than £1m, to the Tate. Combined with seven Artangel-commissioned works already owned by the museum, the works will form The Artangel Collection at Tate. The donation is part of a £2m initiative to bring Artangel’s 21-piece collection to a wider audience. Two new regional partners, Birmingham’s Ikon Gallery and Manchester’s Whitworth Art Gallery, will join Artangel in commissioning five works, including Anri Sala and Šejla Kameric’s 1395 Days Without Red (above), which will premiere at the Manchester International Festival in July.
