MoMA announces Lygia Clark exhibition

New York’s MoMA is planning a major exhibition on the influence of legendary Brazilian artist Lygia Clark, to open in May 2013. The show will be the first North American retrospective of the artist, who died in 1988. Clark, who studied in Rio de Janeiro before moving to Paris in 1950 to study with Fernand Léger, was one of the key figures in the blossoming Brazilian culture of the 1950s and 1960s, and was associated most closely with the Grupo Frente and neo-concretist movement.
