The hordes of collectors and dealers who gave Miami Basel’s new layout short shrift this year will be cheered to learn that change is afoot for 2010. “Obviously we’re going to look at a number of issues,” said Marc Spiegler: “There are some improvements we are going to make.” He and co-director Annette Schönholzer have “spoken with our gallerists extensively” about the unpopular layout, and have already consulted with architects. “The central area will be opened up next year and we are going to rethink the stand numbering,” said Spiegler who had good news for 2009’s first-time emerging dealers: “We will not move the younger galleries back out.”
