The next hearing of the trial of Marion True, the former Getty curator charged with conspiring to receive illegally excavated antiquities, is scheduled for 13 October. This follows the cancellation of a hearing in July because of an 11-day strike by lawyers in Rome. The strike came in response to liberalisation measures announced by Italy’s new centre-left government which are intended to deregulate the retail, insurance, pharmacy and legal sectors. The Bersani decree, which has since become law, includes banning lawyers from imposing minimum fees for services.
