To consecrate the new building, the museum's board has received a massive overhaul

Now that the Museum of Modern Art has settled into its newly expanded building, the museum has shuffled its board. Robert B. Menschel has been named chairman of the board of trustees, succeeding Ronald S. Lauder who held the position for the past decade and has now been named chairman emeritus. Marie-Josée Kravis has been named president, filling the position that Mr Menschel held for three years. David Rockefeller, who recently committed $100 million to the museum, has been named honorary chairman, a newly created position, and Agnes Gund has been named president emerita for a second term. Mr Lauder was one of the most important contributors to the $858-million capital campaign that expanded the museum; he also donated many works of art to the museum collection. His successor Mr Menschel is a senior director with the Goldman Sachs Group, the investment bank. A MoMA trustee since 1989, he has served on many of the board’s subcommittees, and has donated more than 130 photographs to the museum.
